How to Keep Track of Calories Burned Without Mixing Estimates
·
Choose one main expenditure method, record its assumptions and use it consistently. Mixing watch totals, exercise-machine values and activity-adjusted TDEE can count the same activity more than once.
A practical example
| Check | How to apply it |
|---|---|
| Main method | Pick a consistent daily model |
| Session record | Use as context unless separately accounted |
| Review | Compare routine, intake coverage and trend |
Assign each number a role
A TDEE calculator gives a broad daily estimate. A watch gives its modelled daily expenditure. An exercise machine estimates a session. They are not three separate amounts to add.
Keep a note of which value drives your planning and which values are only supporting context.
Compare the record with a real trend
If you use expenditure to plan intake, check food-log completeness and a consistent weight trend before revising the target. BiteCal can make everyday intake recording easier with reviewed meal-photo estimates. Neither diary nor wearable can remove all uncertainty.
