← BiteCal-bloggenNÄRING OCH MATREGISTRERINGBiteCal editorial and corrections policy
BiteCal articles aim to answer a specific nutrition or food-logging question with clear source and portion boundaries. Product information should describe BiteCal honestly, while numerical claims should be traceable to a reference, label or explicitly stated example.
Claims and required evidence
| Claim | Required boundary |
|---|---|
| Nutrition figure | Food identity, unit, serving and source |
| Menu comparison | Document date and included items |
| App feature | Current official description or observed behavior |
| Test result | Actual method, sample and result |
| Illustrative example | Clearly hypothetical inputs |
What our articles are for
The website provides general educational material about food records, calorie and macro estimates, recipes and app workflows. It does not provide an individualized diagnosis, prescription or guarantee of a weight outcome. A reader with clinical needs should use advice appropriate to their circumstances.
How sources are represented
Food references identify the record and preparation. Restaurant data identifies the item, serving and document date. App articles separate advertised capabilities from tests that have actually been performed. A competitor article can inform topic selection; it is not evidence that BiteCal has the competitor’s features, outcomes or database.
Historical figures stay historical. We do not invent missing nutrients, current menu totals, prices, reviewer credentials or experiment results to complete a table.
Original content and useful comparisons
Articles are written for BiteCal with original explanations and practical examples. Matching a topic does not require copying another publisher’s language or promotional claims. A comparison should explain the decision, identify what is known and avoid declaring an untested universal winner.
Correction requests
When reporting an issue, include the page URL, the disputed statement and the evidence that supports a correction. For nutrition, include the serving size, preparation, market and source date where available. Those details help distinguish a true error from two different foods.
A useful correction changes the underlying fact or explanation, not merely the headline. If a source record changes, the related portion calculations and descriptions should be checked together.
Review status
These articles receive editorial and arithmetic checks as part of website preparation. That is not a claim that every page has been independently reviewed by a registered dietitian or medical professional. Unconfirmed menu records are marked as such rather than presented as completed nutrition facts.
BiteCal product access and subscription terms should be confirmed in the current official store listing and purchase screen. Editorial pages do not override those terms.
